Reviews and word of mouth are what helps sell books or allow them sit on a shelf. All authors need them, and at the same time fear them! If you are an author or publisher with a product you would like reviewed, please contact us - we love looking at new things that may help us in our homeschool journey. We do not charge for reviews - we feel it's part of our service to the community. That said, we're pretty picky about what we choose to review.
Just as we do not accept advertising for Common Core/NGSS-aligned products, we also do not review them. We find that the groups creating these standards tend to have strong political motivations, we prefer to review products which were developed without regard to these standards.
Teachers and parents know best how kids learn, and we believe that when a publisher has decided to align with one of those government-sponsored ideas, they have ignored the people who know what kids need and chosen money over integrity at the expense of the kids.
